Why the reformer

The reformer’s springs support you where you need it and resist you where you are ready for it, so every exercise meets you at your level.
Core, posture and alignment

What is a reformer?
A Pilates machine with a sliding carriage, adjustable springs, straps and a foot bar. The springs add resistance or support depending on the exercise, which is what makes it work for a first-timer and an athlete alike. Ours is a Balanced Body Allegro.
I have never done Pilates. Can I start on the reformer?
Yes, and one-on-one is the best way to. Your trainer introduces the machine, the breathing and the basic movements at your pace, with nobody else in the room to keep up with.
Is it good for an injury, or after physical therapy?
Often, yes. Reformer work is low impact and precise, and the trainer works within whatever your therapist has cleared. Mention it in the consultation and we plan around it.
What do I wear?
Fitted clothes you can move in, and grip socks if you have them.
How is this different from the mat Pilates class?
The class is a group on mats, instructor-led, on the schedule every week. Reformer sessions are private, on the machine, and shaped by your goals and your needs. Many people do both.
How do I book, and what does it cost?
Start with the free consultation. We go through pricing, match you with the right trainer, and book a first session at a time that works for you.
